International employees and students: Make sure your records are accurate before year’s end
As the year’s end approaches, the International Tax Office is preparing to generate the required tax reporting forms for 2025. The team is also reviewing 2026 tax requirements for international employees and students, including determining tax residency and tax treaty eligibility for the new year.
Now is a great time to log in and review your Sprintax Calculus profile. Make sure your information is up-to-date and that you’ve consented to receive Form 1042-S electronically (instead of by mail) if you prefer.
Examples of important updates to report in Sprintax: Changes to your mailing address, passport number, program expiration date, immigration status or the addition of a newly obtained Social Security number. If your 2025 Sprintax record is locked and you need to make updates, email intltax@cu.edu to reopen it.
You should also keep an eye out for emails from cuintltax-noreply@sprintax.com throughout the year. These messages may ask you to:
- Activate your Sprintax profile (the email will include an activation link).
- Complete profiles that have been activated but are still incomplete.
- Upload current immigration documents when your status has changed or has been extended.
- E-sign a new tax form to reflect changes in residency status to continue tax treaty benefits.
