The Office of Government Relations supports the University of Colorado by building effective partnerships between the university and state and federal governments. This is achieved through representation and advocacy of CU’s needs and interests with state and federal elected officials in Colorado and Washington, D.C.
The Office of Government Relations coordinates state governmental affairs and is the lead legislative liaison for the University of Colorado system. Primarily, the office advocates at the state legislature for CU's budget and capital requests and monitors all legislation impacting the University of Colorado.
The Office of Government Relations serves as a liaison between the university and federal officials, national organizations, and government entities on issues related to higher education and research. During the session, it would be helpful if all federal relations requests including Hill visits, pending legislation, or rulemaking, be routed through the federal relations team member assigned to the campus impacted by your request.
