In response to the global coronavirus pandemic, CU’s federal relations team worked with university leadership, institutions of higher education across the state, and the Colorado congressional delegation to ensure critical support for students, research and the State of Colorado.
CU President Mark Kennedy met with lawmakers and key agencies to advance a number of CU’s aerospace and defense priorities. Kennedy also hosted a lunch with CU in D.C. students and CU Boulder Student Government leaders.
CU’s federal team has actively monitored and lobbied for improvements to federal guidance that impacts the university’s international students, including a now-withdrawn Department of Homeland Security initiative as well as a White House proclamation on nonimmigrant visas.
With support from the Office of Government Relations, CU President Mark Kennedy joined nearly 1,600 public university leaders for the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities' (APLU) largest-ever annual meeting.
