CU launches major timekeeping overhaul to simplify employee experience

The University of Colorado is embarking on a major modernization effort to transform how employees across all campuses track time and leave. CU will replace MyLeave and various third-party timekeeping systems with a unified solution built on Oracle PeopleSoft Time & Labor, in a move aimed at reducing complexity and improving accuracy.

The Time and Labor (T&L) Project is targeted to launch university-wide in September 2026, following extensive cross-campus collaboration.

The new system will serve all CU employees — including faculty, staff, student workers, graduate students and post-docs — with a streamlined, intuitive interface designed to simplify recording time and tracking leave as well as ensuring payroll accuracy.

CU has partnered with SpearMC, now part of Mythics LLC, a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in modern HR system implementations, to guide the transition and ensure a smooth rollout.

Key benefits of Time & Labor

  • A next-generation user interface for reporting time and leave
  • Fewer systems and reduced manual data entry
  • Improved payroll accuracy with reliable time and absence data

Support for faculty and staff

As the system’s launch date gets closer, CU will offer a range of support resources, including:

  • Town Hall sessions
  • Live and virtual training
  • Interactive demos and simulations via Skillsoft Percipio
  • Step-by-step instructional guides
  • Campus-specific sessions and post-launch office hours

More communications will be shared in the coming months, outlining what to expect and how the change will impact individual roles and departments.

Employees are encouraged to stay engaged and informed through their campus-specific T&L project sites and contacts. For more information, visit the Time & Labor project site or contact your campus project team.
