In accordance 2018 legislation (SB 18-200), PERA contributions rates for employees and employers will increase on July 1. In addition, the Colorado legislature has advanced a bill to suspend a one-time $225 million state payment to PERA fund.
This change affects only Classified Staff newly hired/newly eligible on Jan. 1, 2019 or later. Classified Staff/PERA members hired/eligible prior to Jan. 1, 2019, are not affected.
With the passing of Senate Bill 18-200, unused sick leave paid at separation is now subject to PERA contributions.
Employee Services has postponed its 2016 Preparing to Retire Event, but it will use the February dates to hold on-campus retirement talks by TIAA-CREF and the Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA).
