Remind new international employees and students to complete their Sprintax Calculus profile

New international employees and stipend recipients are required to complete a Sprintax Calculus profile to submit details and documents necessary to determine their U.S. tax residency status. This will ensure accurate taxation of their pay, including exemption from certain taxes and deductions, when appropriate.

Existing international employees should also use Sprintax Calculus to update their information for immigration status extensions and changes, annual treaty renewal, and to provide consent to receive electronic distribution of their 1042-S forms.

Reminders for Sprintax Calculus

  • New hires: All new international employees and stipend recipients will receive an email from cuintltax-noreply@sprintax.com within 14 days of their employment start date, inviting them to complete their profile.
    • If a new employee/stipend recipient in your department has not received their email within this timeframe, please have them contact intltax@cu.edu or attend the International Tax Office’s virtual office hours as soon as possible. This process is necessary to complete the onboarding process and ensure accurate taxation.
  • Existing employees and stipend recipients: No action is needed from international employees who have previously completed their Sprintax Calculus profile or met with the International Tax Office unless they’ve had a recent immigration status extension or change that requires update or have received an email request for update from cuintltax-noreply@sprintax.com.
  • Students: International students receiving non-qualified scholarship will also receive an invitation from cuintltax-noreply@sprintax.com to complete a Sprintax profile.

CU specific information and user guides can be found on the International Tax website.
