Create Email | 30 min

Learn how to create a custom CU email with Marketing Cloud's step-by-step wizard.  

Create a folder structure that helps you and your team stay organized as you create assets like images, content areas, templates, and emails. Use search to find an asset by name, within a specific folder, or across all content or filter to specify the type of asset.

How-To Access Templates

Design your email in three easy steps:

Define Properties

Give your email a name and description so you can easily identify it in your account. Recipients of your message will NOT see these two details.

Customize Content

Here's your time to shine! Create a custom message, newsletter, or invitation that works for you and your audience. 

Change the default template styles of your email for a consistant update to the message look and feel.

By simply dragging and dropping, entire content blocks can be rearranged into the desired area of the email, making rearranging content easy. 

Delete

Simply delete and confitm to remove blocks from your email. Layouts left empty will collapse duing the actual send to recipients.

Replace

Swap your message details in for the dummy text currently populated in the templates.

Images can make or break a good message. Use the image details to control how the messgae displays.

Consider Accessibility

Always add a contextually descriptive alt-tag

Images should be uploaded in the size they should display in desktop

Use 'Scale to Fit' when appropriate

 

Give your recipients a chance to follow your social channels on all the emails they get.

Save content areas that you will use over and over again, such as your department footer or social media links.

The third phase of email creation allows you to preview your email and send a test to five (5) email addresses, so your team can review the final product.

The From Information, also known as the Send Classification drives two components in your email:

  1. From Name & From Email Address | Sender Profile
  2. Email Footer | Delivery Profile
