Exclude Registrants from Event Invitation Reminders

Sending an event invitation reminder is a great way to boost registrations for your event. Like all messages sent from Marketing Cloud, make sure it's as targeted as possible.

In other words, if someone has already RSVP'd to your event, a reminder invite isn't relevant to them. Worse yet, it confuses folks, making them think their attempt to register failed. Leverage the automatic Cvent-Salesforce Integration to exclude folks who have registered for your event.

An Event Campaign is created in Salesforce when a Cvent form is launched. The Campaign serves as a bucket into which Campaign Members will automatically be added when they register for the event.

Can't find the Campaign? If the person trying to access the Salesforce Campaign did not create the Cvent event, someone will need to manually share it with them. The person who created the event and has Salesforce access, or an eComm specialist, can manually share the Salesforce Campaign with others.

2 | Exclude Event Registrants in Marketing Cloud

The good news about reminder invites is that the hard work is already done. Navigate to Marketing Cloud to find your original invitation and add something like 'Last Chance to Register', or 'Register by MONTH DAY at TIME' to the subject line and/or preheader. Then send it to the original audience, excluding anyone who already registerd.

DATA EXTENSIONS If you are sending to a Data Extension (to target a Univeristy email field) your Exclusion will also need to be in the form of a Data Extension. Ask your eComm specialist to convert your RSVP Campaign to a Data Extension.
