Ready to use the Tuition Waiver Benefit?

Tuition benefit deadlines: We are no longer accepting applications for the Spring 2018 Tuition Benefit. We will re-open the application process for Summer 2018 Tuition Benefit mid-May. Check our website for further details.

Step 1: Apply to CU Denver/CU Anschutz before the semester begins

 

Denver Campus: Contact Admissions for application details and deadlines.

 Anschutz Medical Campus: Contact your school or college for complete application details and deadlines.

  • If you are taking classes informally, complete the non-degree application.
  • If you want to take classes toward a specific degree, complete the degree application.
  • Apply at least two weeks before the semester begins to ensure you can use the tuition waiver benefit.
  • Employees/Dependents must apply as a student on the campus of the course.

Step 2: Submit the tuition waiver benefit form

 

 Deadline: Jan. 31, 2018

  • It is mandatory for UCD/AMC tuition benefit applicants to fill in course section numbers (example: MATH 1010-001) under the requested courses to be waived.
  • Submit the Tuition Waiver Benefit form two weeks before the first day of the semester. Read the instructions carefully to guarantee your form is accepted and processed in a timely manner.
  • If your dependent(s) is using the waiver and is not listed on your CU health, dental or life insurance, you must also submit a Dependent Eligibility Verification form. Once completed, this form can be attached to and submitted via the online Tuition Waiver Benefit Form

Step 3: Register for your courses

 

 Dependents Register: On their designated registration day

 Employees Register: 

Denver Campus: Jan. 16, 2018

Anschutz Medical Campus: Jan. 22, 2018

  • Employees may not enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses before the published start date of the course(s) in question.
  • Dependents can enroll prior to the first day of the course.
  • Ineligible courses include auxiliary-funded programs, such as Continuing Education, Extended Studies, the Executive MBA program, the One Year MBA program or CU Boulder’s Part-Time, Evening MBA program, study abroad and audits.

  • At Anschutz, only Nursing and Public Health courses (except PUBH 6606 and PUBH 6955) are eligible for the benefit. 

  • If a course is not listed on your Tuition Waiver Benefit Form, you must submit a new form, and all courses must be verified. ( See step 6 below).

  • Denver Campus: New or readmitted students must pay a $200 Registration Advance Payment before registering. Applying for FAFSA removes the $200 Registration Advance Payment as an enrollment requirement. 

Step 4: Apply for the College Opportunity Fund

 

 Application Deadline: Feb. 28, 2018

  • If you or your dependent is taking undergraduate courses, apply for the College Opportunity Fund (COF).
  • Please note: If COF funds are available to you or your dependent, but you did not use them, you will be responsible for the tuition amount that would have been covered by COF.

Step 5: Pay fees and non-waived tuition

 

 Dependent Deadline: Feb. 2, 2018

 Employee Deadline: Feb. 28, 2018


Step 6: Resubmit Tuition Waiver Benefit Form for new courses, if necessary

 

 Deadline: Jan. 31, 2018

  • If the courses you originally requested were full, you can resubmit the Tuition Waiver Benefit Form to Employee Services with a list of new courses.

To ensure enough time for processing, aim for the target dates.
