HCM and FIN access requests and approvals transferring to PeopleSoft

Beginning July 1, access requests and approvals for HCM and PeopleSoft Finance System (FIN) will move from Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) into PeopleSoft.

This change is intended to simplify the user experience, improve supportability and streamline future enhancements.

Requesting Access

On July 1, users will request access to the HCM and FIN systems through PeopleSoft, rather than OIM. Access requests will be made through the Request System Access tile in the employee portal.

Step-by-step instructions will be available on the UIS Access Management site:

There are no changes to both systems functionally, along with available roles. Users who attempt to request through OIM after July 1 will be redirected to PeopleSoft.

Review the new access documentation prior to the launch.

Approving Access

Supervisors and POI sponsors will be able to approve these access requests in the Approvals tile, similar to leave requests and other employee management tasks.

Requests for approval will also appear as a notification in the employee portal.

Why the change?

Many users already interact with PeopleSoft day-to-day within the employee portal. Transferring these requests directly into PeopleSoft offers a more intuitive and familiar experience, reducing frustration when making access requests. UIS can also leverage existing expertise and provide a more sustainable platform for future improvements.
