Ready to use the Tuition Assistance Benefit?

Step 1: Apply to CU Denver/CU Anschutz before the semester begins

 

Denver Campus: Contact Admissions for application details and deadlines.

 Anschutz Medical Campus: Contact your school or college for complete application details and deadlines.

  • If you are taking classes informally, complete the non-degree application.
  • If you want to take classes toward a specific degree, complete the degree application.
  • Apply at least two weeks before the semester begins to ensure you can use the tuition assistance benefit.
  • Employees/Dependents must apply as a student on the campus of the course.

Step 2: Submit the tuition waiver benefit form

 

Maymester Deadline: May 14, 2018  

Summer Deadline: June 12, 2018

 Online FormTuition Waiver Benefit Form  

  • It is mandatory for UCD/AMC tuition benefit applicants to fill in course section numbers (example: MATH 1010-001) under the requested courses to be waived.
  • If your dependent(s) is using the waiver and is not listed on your CU health, dental or life insurance, you must also submit a Dependent Eligibility Verification form. Once completed, this form can be attached to and submitted via the online Tuition Waiver Benefit Form

Once the application is submitted, you will receive an email confirmation. Employee Services will verify your eligibility. If you are eligible, we will forward your application to the appropriate campus registrar’s office to determine course eligibility. 


Step 3: Register for your courses

 

 Dependents Register: On their designated registration day

 Employees Register: 

Maymester Denver Campus: May 14, 2018

Summer Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus: June 4, 2018

  • Employees may not enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses before the published start date of the course(s) in question.
  • Dependents can enroll prior to the first day of the course.
  • Ineligible courses include auxiliary-funded programs, such as Continuing Education, Extended Studies, the Executive MBA program, the One Year MBA program or CU Boulder’s Part-Time, Evening MBA program, study abroad and audits.

  • At Anschutz, only Nursing and Public Health courses (except PUBH 6606 and PUBH 6955) are eligible for the benefit. 

  • If a course is not listed on your Tuition Waiver Benefit Form, you must submit a new form, and all courses must be verified. ( See step 6 below).

  • Denver Campus: New or readmitted students must pay a $200 Registration Advance Payment before registering. Applying for FAFSA removes the $200 Registration Advance Payment as an enrollment requirement. 

You will be notified by the registrar’s office whether your courses are approved or denied. If your courses have been denied, you may drop the classes via your portal or the registrar’s office. If your courses have been approved, your application is sent to the bursar’s office for waiver of tuition. All changes will be reflected in the portal.  


Step 4: Apply for the College Opportunity Fund

 

 Application Deadline: June 29, 2018

  • If you or your dependent are classifed as an undergradate Colorado resident, apply for the College Opportunity Fund (COF).
  • Please note: If COF funds are available to you or your dependent, but you did not use them, you will be responsible for the tuition amount that would have been covered by COF.

Step 5: Pay fees and non-waived tuition

 Employee Deadline: June 29, 2018


Step 6: Resubmit Tuition Waiver Benefit Form for new courses, if necessary

 

Maymester Deadline: May 14, 2018

Summer Deadline: June 12, 2018

  • If the courses you originally requested were full, you can resubmit the Tuition Waiver Benefit Form to Employee Services with a list of new courses.

Tuition benefit deadlines: We are no longer accepting applications for the Spring 2018 Tuition Benefit.
