Lisa Vallad Shares her Best Practices at National Conference

We’re pleased to note that CPE Program Manager & Finance Learning Specialist Lisa Vallad presented a best practices session at the national Online Learning Conference last month. In discussing, “Subject Matter Experts: Not Your Frenemy,” Lisa outlined a way to connect the dots between instructional design, compliance, and content expertise.

Her session focused on transitioning instructional design procedures from the designer to the subject matter expert, specifically in regard to the OUC’s Continuing Professional Education (CPE) program. By developing templates for CPE instructors to use during course development, Lisa is able to serve effectively and efficiently as a consultant for several dozen courses.

While at the conference, Lisa enjoyed discussing course development issues with other learning professionals from around the world. She reports that she’s picked up several new ideas and approaches, including the use of animated videos for role-playing scenarios, to implement here at the OUC.

The Online Learning Conference is produced annually by Training magazine (TrainingMag.com) – a major resource for training, learning, and performance professionals for the past 50 years.
