NACUBO Magazine Highlights OUC’s Annual Financial Report
What can happen when you encourage an entrepreneurial spirit? Something great!
The radical (and award-winning) redesign of the University’s annual financial report was made possible last year because, as Associate Vice President & Chief Business Officer Geoff Barsch notes, "We have a president and a culture that embrace trying new things, particularly those that bring us better outreach to our constituents."
We’re delighted that the December 2014 issue of Business Officer magazine (see http://www.nacubo.org/Business_Officer_Magazine/Magazine_Archives/December_2014.html) gave prominent coverage to “The Story the Numbers Tell.” The National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) highlighted the OUC’s inspired revision of CU’s annual financial statements, which turned away from black-and-white print publications to create two interactive websites – including one for non-accountants. The endeavor was honored with a 2014 NACUBO Innovation Award.
NACUBO hails the dynamic user interface and ease of navigation in the 2013 Annual Report and Illustrated Guide. More recently, we’ve had great comments on the recently published 2014 Report and Guide. We appreciate the favorable responses from both the Colorado State Auditor’s Office and the Boulder Daily Camera. Office staff recently used the site’s feedback form to thank us for presenting clear information in a functional and creative online environment.
