CU System ID Password

Password Reset

To reset your password for your CU System ID account you can do any of the following:

  • Workstation/Laptop Reset
    • If you have a laptop or workstation that is part of the CU System Administration's domain (i.e. you are a CU System Administration or Advancement employee) you can reset you password via your computer and your CU System ID will be updated.
  • Reset when logging into an Enterprise Application
    • While logging into the CU System Portal or another enterprise application using the CU System campus login page, click on the blue Password Help button and follow the instructions for changing your CU system ID password.

Forgotten Password

If you have forgotten your password for your CU System ID account you can do one of the following:

  • Reset forgotten password via an email link:
    • While logging into the CU System Portal or another enterprise application using the CU System campus login page, click on the blue Password Help button and follow the instructions for resetting a forgotten password.
    • An email will be sent to your System Recovery Email address with a one-time link to reset your password.
    • The email must be a non-cu.edu email address. Campus email addresses are preferred.
    • The email used by the system for sending you the link can be checked or updated in CU Identity Manager:
      • Log into CU Identity Manager using one of your other campus accounts
      • Open the My Information page
      • Review the System Recovery Email value and update if needed. If you change this value it could take up to 15 minutes to propagate to the directory, so you may need to wait a few minutes before trying the forgotten password link again.
  • If you do not have a System Recovery Email defined in CU Identity Manager, or do not have campus credentials to log into CU Identity Manager and review the email being used, then you will need to contact the UIS Service Desk for a password reset.
    • After confirming your identity with the service desk they will reset your password
    • Please provide them with a non-cu.edu email address to be added to CU Identity Manager for future use.
