Project Status, Aug 28

eComm project status update for the week of Aug 24 - Aug 29.

This week the eComm team was focused on data validation for the education, employment and interest objects in Salesforce. We uncovered some gaps that the data team will address. We will validate again after the refresh is complete to the Stage environment - refresh is slated to start on Sept 11 and so validation will start mid-to-late September.

Data loading and validating is taking far longer than we anticipate and we continue to strive to get our eComm team and super user testers access to production prior to all users. For these reasons, we are now looking at all-user training in January, but no later than February. While this presents some risks, specifically because Harris sunsets in February, the Center of Excellence (CoE) team feels this is the best and most-likely scenario. An email to all users explaining the change in timeline will be sent on Monday.

The campus Identity Management (IDM) teams are slated to propose a solution during a half day working session on Sept 3 that would address provisioning of alumni for the alumni community. Once we have this, we will begin discussions around funding and timing of implementation. We hope to have this solved before Harris sunsets so the community does not go dark.

We are having a formal kickoff for phase 2 on Monday. The CoE will select a vendor to implement phase 2 of the eComm project next week.

The CoE is providing the eComm team a security 101 presentation on Monday also. This will be a great opportunity for the group to ask questions and get clarity on what data eComm users will be able to see (or not) and what they can do with it (eg; email, reports, etc.).
