The eRA 13.808.01E upgrade project partnership between UIS, campus eRA teams and vendor InfoEd resulted in the successful implementation of hundreds of enhancements, fixes and new features for the eRA Oracle database and InfoEd applications. The collaboration also created opportunities to develop best practices and processes that strengthened the relationships between the teams and that will ensure a strong partnership on all eRA interactions in the future.
Student recruitment is a critical cornerstone of university operations and standardized tests are an important component of the student admissions application process. A new process in place at the CU Denver admissions office automates parts of the cumbersone test score processing, saving time and improving test record quality. Learn more about this new process.
In March of 2016, the UIS Service Desk asked System Administration staff to help us improve our services by completing a brief survey. The top issues identified were the service desk's response and resolution times, technical experitise and the dimishished effectiveness of the student services model. At University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS), the process to change grades was manual and cumbersome. The UCCS Office of the Registrar partered with UIS to develop a real-time workflow integration to Campus Solutions that resulted in improved efficencies and eliminated manual grade changes. UIS's Karthik Chigururu was the System Administration employee selected to receive the Staff Council 2016 Service Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding service to the university.
Another year with a strong CU presence at Oracle's Higher Education User Group's (HEUG) Alliance conference with presentations from a number of UIS and university staff. The university's reputation as a leader in Oracle and PeopleSoft teachnologies continues to grow as we spread knowledge and expertise at Alliance and participate in Oracle advisory groups throughout the year. A new Windows computers security policy is going into effect Tuesday, March 22 to increase data security and protect System Administration employees from unauthorized use of their Windows computing devices. Computing devices will automatically lock after 15 minutes of inactivity. Learn more about this new policy.
