Championing cyber safety: Cybersecurity Awareness Month at CU

Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a global effort to promote cybersecurity best practices and increase awareness of security threats among organizations and individuals alike, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this October.

The University of Colorado is a proud champion of Cybersecurity Awareness Month and will host a contest, several events, and informative sessions for you to get involved with the initiative.

Complete the cybersecurity course by Nov. 30 for a chance to win $100

All employees who complete the Information Security Awareness Skillsoft course will be automatically entered into a drawing to win $100. The drawing window will begin Oct. 2 and will extend until Nov. 30, and all employees are eligible to take the course during this window again, regardless of when you last completed it.

The Office of Information Security will select six random winners on Dec. 1. The prize will be deposited into the winners’ payroll accounts and pertaining taxes will be covered by OIS.
