Gift-in-Kind Acceptance (GIK)

  • The GIK form has been updated to streamline input of required information for the System Advancement Gift Planning team, including revising language to align with CU Ascend data, adding fields to obtain travel-related information, requiring signature from GIK custodian, and clarifying date of ownership.
  • In addition, the Gift Planning team has launched a new donor-facing online GIK Acknowledgment Request form for gifts-in-kind valued at less than $500 with no special circumstances. Documentation for these items will consist of the submitted gift details rather than a GIK Acceptance Form.
  • These new procedures create efficiencies, allowing the Gift Planning team to dedicate time and effort toward more complex GIK transactions.

Recognition Program Authorization (RPA)

  • The RPA form has been updated to include the SpeedType proposed to cover recognition program expenses.
  • The new field will save time and effort on the part of officers and org fiscal principals who are interested in viewing the funding source for the proposed program.
