Gift-in-Kind Acceptance (GIK)

• The GIK form [3] has been updated to streamline input of required information for the System Advancement Gift Planning team, including revising language to align with CU Ascend data, adding fields to obtain travel-related information, requiring signature from GIK custodian, and clarifying date of ownership.
• In addition, the Gift Planning team has launched a new donor-facing online GIK Acknowledgment Request [4] form for gifts-in-kind valued at less than $500 with no special circumstances. Documentation for these items will consist of the submitted gift details rather than a GIK Acceptance Form.
• These new procedures create efficiencies, allowing the Gift Planning team to dedicate time and effort toward more complex GIK transactions.

Recognition Program Authorization (RPA)

• The RPA form has been updated to include the SpeedType proposed to cover recognition program expenses.
• The new field will save time and effort on the part of officers and org fiscal principals who are interested in viewing the funding source for the proposed program.
