Earlier this year, we announced new and different capital asset thresholds for the campuses. Effective July 1, 2025, the equipment capitalization threshold is $10,000 for CU Boulder and System Administration. The threshold remains $5,000 for UCCS and CU Denver|Anschutz, which is consistent with their currently approved indirect cost rates. 

Following up on these changes, the OUC has modified PeopleSoft Account descriptions for Accounts that previously referenced a specific dollar value, with a reference simply to "threshold." For example:

  • Former 810100 Equipment >= $5000 is now: 810100 Equipment >= threshold
  • Former 500800 Computers (bundled < $5000) is now: 500800 Computers (bundled<threshold)
