Recent news to share about the Office of University Controller ... 

We've restructured the Tax & Payroll-Benefit Accounting team. 

The OUC has recently reorganized its internal structure to better support the campuses and the University at large. Earlier this spring, we made the decision to separate the Tax and Payroll-Benefit Accounting (PBA) functions.

  • The Tax team (Adam Stark, Armando Encinias) now fully focus on the University’s tax filings and on the increasing number of tax-related consulting questions from the campuses. The scope and volume of this work have been growing rapidly. As just one example: in the last four years, we've seen a 25-fold increase in the number of tax inquiries to FSS@cu.edu.
  • The PBA team (Audra Strang, Matt LeDoux, Stacy Grout) continue their work to ensure accurate payroll and benefit expense reporting.

While the major Tax/PBA functions are being separated, there will continue to be areas where these issues overlap, and the teams will continue to collaborate closely on those matters.
