Does your department use Fund 80 SpeedTypes?
If so, there are important requirements you need to know.
Fund 80 SpeedTypes are agency funds. The University holds these funds as a custodian for certain external groups (e.g., student organizations, affiliated organizations, and third-party financial aid programs). CU’s role is limited to providing custodial and banking services – safeguarding the funds, processing authorized payments, and supporting the organizations’ financial activities within the University environment.
Because these funds do not represent University business, organizations using Fund 80 do not have access to University procurement services, tax-exempt status, state contract discounts, or similar University benefits.
Fund 80 transfers: What you need to know
Fund 80 represents funds that are not University funds. Therefore, strict restrictions apply to transfers involving Fund 80:
- Only transfers between Fund 80 SpeedTypes are permitted.
- Transfers to or from Fund 80 and any other fund are prohibited and are not eligible for a campus override. Contact the University Controller if you feel there are exceptional circumstances supporting such a transfer.
