The 2018 Colorado Capital Conference was held in Washington, DC. UCCS Chancellor Venkat Reddy served as the host for the University of Colorado along with Tim Foster, President of Colorado Mesa University. This year added a third university partner, Colorado State University, hosted by President Tony Frank. U.S. Senators Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Michael Bennet (D-CO) collaborated with the universities in the annual bipartisan event.
State Senators Owen Hill (R-Colorado Springs), Chris Holbert (R-Parker) and State Representative Chris Hansen (D-Denver) were honored as 2018 Legislators of the Year.
More than 50 scientists from 11 research institutions presented their research at the State Capitol for a special poster session.
CU Advocacy Day at the Capitol was attended by more than 150 people, including CU Advocates, alumni, donors, legislators, regents and friends.
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) hosted a luncheon near the Capitol for state legislators.
The CU Anschutz Center for Advancing Professional Excellence (CAPE) hosted two groups of state legislators as part of a day-long “medical practice experience” organized by Colorado-based COPIC Insurance Company.
