Early Career Scientists Day at the Capitol
More than 50 scientists from 11 research institutions presented their research at the State Capitol for a special poster session. The January 19 event celebrated the diverse and exciting research being performed by early-career scientists throughout Colorado. State legislators and researchers engaged in discussions throughout the morning and Governor Hickenlooper proclaimed January 19, 2018 as Early-Career Scientist Day. The goal of the event was to encourage new science advocates among state legislators and their staff and to start a conversation about the impact primary science research has on Colorado’s economic, physical, and social health and the important role early-career scientists play within this industry.
