Tax & Payroll-Benefit Accounting - Retirement Accountant
Ritu is responsible for general accounting of the University of Colorado's tax-deferred annuity and retirement plans. Responsibilities include preparation, submission, reconciliation, support, and review of payroll contributions and remittances; work with vendor representatives to resolve remittance or contribution issues; work with Employee Services PERA administrator to prepare and submit PERA independent contractor filings and remittances; and preparation and submission of quarterly workers' compensation, unemployment, and multiple-worksite reports.
Facts:
- Ritu has a B.S. Degree in Accounting from Metro State University of Denver.
- Prior work experience at CU includes: Provided payroll tax accounting and financial reporting support; oversaw federal, state, head tax reporting, and treasury payments. Supported ASI Flex, COBRA, garnishment, bank activities, and deposits.
- Ritu joined CU in August 2010, starting at the Boulder Campus then in December 2013 relocated to the Office of University Controller. Ritu has acquired many years of accounting experience in public and private sectors. She has worked as a grants accountant at the University of Denver, as grants and staff accountant at The Children's Hospital Colorado, and as an accounting technician at Westerra Credit Union Bank.
