Director of Financial Services & Solutions (FSS)

Normandy is responsible for strategic planning and positioning for the Financial Services & Solutions (FSS) section of the OUC. That means I work with the campus finance offices, Employee Services, University Counsel, Procurement Service Center (PSC), Office of Policy and Efficiency, and other constituents, to develop policies and procedures related to finance, financial reporting, and related topics. I also write the Office of University Controller news blog.

• Interpretation of/input on fiscal policies and procedures (University Fiscal Procedures, Fiscal Administrative Policy Statements or APSs, Accounting Handbook, Finance Procedural Statements)
• Policy briefings (on-site) for faculty/staff meetings

• Outreach available on finance, reporting, and additional (CPE) topics

Facts

• B.A. in History and M.A. in African Languages & Literature (Arabic), from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
• Past work in curricular systems development (UW-Madison), epidemiology (Wisconsin state government), marketing (private sector), and higher education information resources (Educause) ... also stints as a cab driver, EMT, and disc jockey
• Instructor in the CPE for CPAs Program
• Member-Higher Education User Group (HEUG) Project & Change Management Advisory Group
• Joined CU as a trainer with the PeopleSoft implementation
