Fort Carson Leadership Visits CU Boulder

University leadership, including CU Regent Sue Sharkey, CU President Mark Kennedy and CU Boulder Chancellor Phil DiStefano, hosted Maj. Gen. Matthew McFarlane, Fort Carson’s 4th Infantry Division Commanding General, and his team at the Boulder campus. This introductory visit highlighted key CU Boulder programs, including the Research and Engineering Center for Unmanned Vehicles (RECUV) and the Golden Buffalo Battalion Army ROTC program.

The visit to RECUV included a tour within the Aerospace Engineering Building and discussion with Brian Argrow, Professor and Department Chair of Aerospace Engineering Sciences; Dale Lawrence, Professor and Director of RECUV; and William “Bill” Doe, Research Development Manager at the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The group then traveled to Folsom Field offices, where Maj. Jenn Staton of the CU Boulder Army ROTC led a group discussion between Golden Buffalo Battalion cadets and Maj. General McFarlane.
