Upcoming CU-Data (Cognos) SQL and Report Performance Training Nov 21st

This training session will focus on understanding the basics of SQL statements and how Cognos generates these SQL statement to pull data into reports.

We will investigate how Cognos SQL is generated from queries and how the performance of these queries can be improved to produce faster running reports. We will focus on how to create optimal queries by illustrating how filters, aggregation, functions, and joins effect the way Cognos generates SQL to pull from the CIW. In addition, we will also looks at query and report settings that can be utilized to improve performance for your consumers. Finally, we will use this knowledge to investigate how we can troubleshoot slow running reports and use the information above to improve the performance of existing reports.
