Sign up now for Cognos Training sessions on April 4th and 5th!

Thank you to those of you who attended our trainings on Tuesday, March 12th. We led a mentoring session in the morning and Basic Dashboards in the afternoon. Based on the feedback from these trainings, we heard a few requests:

Shoot, I missed it! When is the next session?
Basic Dashboards was great, but I want more!
Wait, what is Cognos?
I really need something more customized with my team.

Based on this feedback, we are going to be offering the following trainings (with some repeats) on April 4th and 5th:

Basic Dashboards

Introduction to 11.1
Create a data module from a csv file (already uploaded into Cognos)
Create a dashboard from the data module
Audience: report developers who want to learn the basics of dashboards.

Advanced Dashboards

Create a data module from a csv file and create calculations
Create a data module from a package and join to an existing data module
Build a dashboard and add calculations
Explore on your own

While the training steps show how to build a data module with a sample package, we will have some of our real packages available for users to try and join to data modules and build dashboards from their own packages
Please email us at least 3 days prior to training to ensure your package is available

Audience: report developers who have already attended Basic Dashboards but want to learn more

Cognos 101

New to reporting or Cognos Analytics? Attend this session for an overview of Cognos - what is it? How does it interact with the data warehouse? Other data sources? Learn the basics of accessing Cognos, how to run reports, and an overview of report development options
Audience: report developers who are new to Cognos or need a refresher on what it is and how it fits in the broader picture

For those report developers who need a more customized training with your team, please reach out to us at irm@cu.edu so we can work with you to schedule a time.

All trainings will be held on site at 1800 Grant in the training room on the second floor. If you would like to dial in remotely, you are welcome to watch the training but you will not be able to connect to the training environment. Please register online and we will send you an Outlook meeting.
