U.S. Senator Bennet and FDA Commissioner Tour the Barbara Davis Center

U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and Robert Califf, MD, Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) toured the Barbara Davis Center at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. They also joined a roundtable discussion to discuss treatment options such as FDA-approved artificial pancreas (AP) system.

The discussion was convened by Bennet, who invited Califf to CU Anschutz to hear from families about their experiences with the AP system and other new devices such as continuous glucose monitors (CGM). To read more about these new devices and the discussion in CU Anschutz Today, click here

Bennet and Califf were joined by David Maahs, MD, PhD, associate professor of pediatrics, and Marian Rewers, MD, PhD, professor of pediatrics and executive director of the Barbara Davis Center. Seven families who are affected by type 1 diabetes also attended to share their experiences.
