UCCS Coordinates Mountain West Cybersecurity Consortium

UCCS, in partnership with the Office of Government Relations and the Daniels Fund, held the first Mountain West Cybersecurity Consortium meeting. UCCS, in coordination with higher education partners throughout Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming, intends for the consortium to connect existing and future cybersecurity research, education, and community partnerships to develop innovative cyber solutions and a competent, agile workforce.

The first meeting, held in October, was well attended. CU Boulder, UCCS, CU Denver, Colorado State University, CSU Pueblo, University of Northern Colorado, the Metropolitan State University of Denver, New Mexico State University, Colorado Mesa University, Western State Colorado University, and Pikes Peak Community College were all represented. Cybersecurity is a hot topic in education and the work force, in terms of training and security, and the Mountain West Cybersecurity Consortium plans to be on the forefront of these issues.
