Senator Randy Baumgardner Hosts CU Boulder Unmanned Aircraft System Presentation

Senator Randy Baumgardner​ (R-Hot Sulphur Springs) hosted the University of Colorado Boulder's Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) presentation in Winter Park, CO. Abby Benson, CU Boulder Executive Director of Aerospace Ventures, and Dr. Eric Frew, Director of Research & Engineering Center for Unmanned Vehicles (RECUV) highlighted the educational and research aspects of CU's Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences, AeroSpace Ventures, RECUV and the Integrated Remote and In Situ Sensing (IRISS) unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) programs. The presentation also reviewed the applicability of the work of these entities on mountain and rural communities. Attendees were then invited to watch a drone demonstration outside.
