Second Lady Karen Pence visits Marcus Institute for Brain Health at CU Anschutz Medical Campus

Second Lady Karen Pence visited the CU Anschutz Medical Campus to learn more about the Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) and its art therapy program on June 25. The visit was part of the Second Lady’s Art Therapy:Healing With HeART initiative. During the visit, Mrs. Pence spoke directly with veterans who have participated in the program and had their artwork on display. MIBH Executive Director James Kelly, MD and Gayla Elliott, M.A., A.T.R., Creative Arts Therapy Program Manager, both spoke about the program and its impact. CU First Lady Debbie Kennedy and CU Regent Heidi Ganahl attended the discussion.
