Legislators Attend Cancer Center Luncheon at CU Anschutz Medical Campus

Several state legislators, including many members of the Colorado Cancer Caucus, attended a luncheon at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus to learn about the future of cancer research and treatment in Colorado. Richard D. Schulick, MD, MBA, director of the University of Colorado Cancer Center, along with other prominent faculty members at the campus, spoke during the December 7 event. Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera, a four-time breast cancer survivor, gave opening remarks at the event. Legislators in attendance included Senators Rhonda Fields (D-Arapahoe) and Kevin Priola (R-Adams), and Representatives James Coleman (D-Denver), Kim Ransom (R-Littleton), Donald Valdez (D-La Jara), Kevin Van Winkle (R-Highlands Ranch), then Representatives-elect Shannon Bird (D-Westminster), Kyle Mullica (D-Northglenn), Bri Buentello (D-Pueblo), Matt Soper (R-Grand Junction), Tom Sullivan (D-Centennial).
