Retired Gen. James Mattis visited the CU Denver campus on February 17 to give a lecture on Middle East Tensions to student veterans. The lecture, presented by CU Denver's History and Political Science Departments, was well attended.

The discussion ranged from ISIS militants in the Middle East to politics and history of the region. Over 200 CU Denver student veterans attended, along with Chancellor Jerry Wartgow and Pamela Jansma, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman attended and introduced the General.
