CU President Mark Kennedy Attends the APLU Annual Meeting

With support from the Office of Government Relations, CU President Mark Kennedy joined nearly 1,600 public university leaders for the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities' (APLU) largest-ever annual meeting in San Diego in November. President Kennedy was invited to join university leaders for a panel entitled 2020 Elections on The Horizon: The Public University Role. President Kennedy was joined on stage by Martin Meehan, President of the University of Massachusetts, and Virginia Hardy, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at East Carolina University, to discuss how public universities navigate election politics and foster civil discourse in a climate of political polarization. The panel was moderated by Mica Stark, Associate Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs at the University of New Hampshire. President Kennedy also joined leadership from CU Boulder, including Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Terri Fiez, to accept APLU's coveted Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) University designation, which recognizes universities that excel in economic engagement.
