UCCS welcomes Jeff Greene as interim VCAF

Jeff Greene will be serving as Interim Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at UCCS beginning June 25, 2025.

“I’m honored to step into this interim role at UCCS and support a campus that has long been a cornerstone of our community,” he said. “I’m excited to help advance the university’s mission during this important transition.”

Jeff served as the Chief of Staff of the City of Colorado Springs from 2015 to 2023. Prior to his position as chief of staff, he served as the County Administrator of El Paso County for nearly ten years.

Jeff has served as an advisory member of the UCCS Regional Connect for University Advancement and previously served as an advisor to the Chancellor through the Chancellor’s Roundtable and Ambassadors group under past UCCS leadership. He maintains strong ties to both UCCS and the broader Colorado Springs community.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jeff Greene to UCCS,” said Chancellor Sobanet. “His decades of leadership in both city and county government, particularly his ability to navigate complex challenges with collaboration and vision, make him an exceptional fit for our campus. Jeff’s deep ties to the community and his longstanding support of UCCS will serve us well as we continue to move forward.”

He has served on a wide range of governing boards, including the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation, the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, Exponential Impact, Pikes Peak Workforce Investment Board, the United Way of the Pikes Peak Region, the Regional Leadership Forum, the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute, and the Center for Regional Advancement, a former nonprofit foundation of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Jeff graduated from the University of Tennessee and, upon graduation, was commissioned into the United States Army, Signal Corp.

In his interim role, Jeff will oversee all departments of the Administration and Finance division and help ensure the auxiliary departments – including Dining and Hospitality Services, Retail Services (including the Campus Store, Print Shop, and Vending), the University Center, Event Services, the Family Development Center, the UCCS Farm and Sustainability Programming, and Auxiliary Marketing – have a smooth transition to the division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.
