Poe named Director of Faculty Affairs
The Office of Faculty Affairs is pleased to announce that Jennifer (Jen) Poe has accepted the role of Director of Faculty Affairs, effective November 19, 2025. This appointment marks an important milestone as the university continues to strengthen support for faculty and academic excellence.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to step into such an important role and to help establish the inaugural Office of Faculty Affairs at UCCS,” said Poe. “Much of my work over the last several years has focused on evidence-based practices to support faculty success, and it is an honor to be able to continue this work to uplift our faculty. I look forward to co-creating a beneficial and supportive office with our UCCS faculty and celebrating all the ways their work contributes to our campus, their fields, and our broader community.”
Jennifer has seven years of experience at UCCS in various roles, including director for the Center for Student Research and coordinator for National Science Foundation-funded faculty development projects. Since November 2023, she has supported the Provost’s office with faculty records, promotion and tenure processes and event organization. Previously, Jennifer taught psychology at Pikes Peak State College and lectured at UCCS. She holds an M.A. from UCCS and a bachelor’s from CU Boulder, both in psychology, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership, Research, and Foundations at UCCS. Her background offers valuable perspective to Faculty Affairs.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have a colleague whose commitment to faculty success is matched only by their integrity, insight, and generosity of spirit,” said Interim Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Emily Skop. “In this new role, Jen will no doubt elevate our entire academic community. She will help guide complex processes, build meaningful connections, and champion the excellence of our faculty at every opportunity. I am delighted to partner with Jen and, along with our colleagues, co-create the strategic vision for the Office of Faculty Affairs.”
The role is essential to the operations of the Office of Faculty Affairs. Reporting to the Vice Provost and Associate Vice Chancellor, this position brings people, policy and strategy together: managing essential faculty records, coordinating university-wide programs and celebrations and serving as a vital connector to CU System partners.
“Thank you to the search committee members who take time, care, and so much effort in shaping the future of our campus,” said Provost Lynn Vidler. “Selecting a candidate is always a difficult task as UCCS recruits great talent for our roles. I’ve worked successfully with Jen on faculty-facing events, and I am confident she will help us build forward.”
With this appointment, UCCS will begin a search for the permanent Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs in the spring with an expected position start date in the summer. Updates on this process can be expected in the 2026 spring semester.
