Melinda Hagemann promoted to Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Engagement

Last week, UCCS promoted Melinda Hagemann to Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Engagement, effective immediately. Hagemann was named interim vice chancellor for the same office in January 2026. Prior to the appointment of interim, Hagemann served as Senior Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Engagement.

“Melinda brings extensive fundraising expertise to the role, but also a longstanding commitment to UCCS and the Colorado Springs community,” said Jennifer Sobanet, UCCS Chancellor. “Since joining the university community in 2012, she has been instrumental in advancing support for our campus community and has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to connect donors with the transformative work happening across UCCS.”

In her various roles at UCCS, Hagemann has continually worked to strengthen the relationships and philanthropic partnerships that help propel the university forward.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Melinda for more than 12 years,” said Annie Baccary, Vice President for CU Advancement Administration. “She is highly respected by her team and by colleagues across the CU system. She is smart, strategic, and one of the most caring people I know. I am thrilled to continue to partner with Melinda in her new role.”

Hagemman’s leadership has reinforced vital connections with the many alumni, donors, business leaders, and community members who believe deeply in the university’s mission and future.

As a former scholarship recipient, Hagemann is deeply passionate about expanding access to higher education through philanthropic scholarship support and creating opportunities for student success.

In her role as Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Engagement, Hagemann will continue leading efforts to strengthen philanthropic partnerships, deepen alumni and community engagement, and support initiatives that advance the university’s strategic priorities.
