We're Offering CPE Live Webinars ... and Hiring a Finance/Procurement Learning Specialist

This week, we have great news on two different learning fronts: CPE via live webinars, and a consolidated approach to finance and procurement training!

CU CPE for CPAs Program Expands to Live Webinars

We’re delighted to announce that this year, our Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Program will offer live webinars in addition to our usual live (in-person) classes.

Earlier this summer, we completed a demo webinar and the necessary paperwork for evaluation by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), our CPE sponsor. NASBA recently offered its congratulations on the quality of the webinar and notified us that our additional delivery method had been approved.

So this means you’ll be able to benefit from our professional development opportunities (and get CPE credit, for Certified Public Accountants) without leaving your office. And you’ll still be able to network with your colleagues through our in-person sessions, at Grant Street and at your campus.

We’re looking forward to expanding the reach of our curriculum and serving you better! Look for our FY 2017 course offering schedule – to be published online and announced in this blog – within the next few weeks.

We’re Hiring a Finance & Procurement Learning Specialist

We’ve recently re-defined and re-aligned our training staff to better address campus needs and questions. You’ll see some of these changes reflected in our job posting for a Finance & Procurement Learning Specialist.

Under this new approach, we’re looking for a top-notch trainer who can understand CU’s finance, financial reporting, purchasing, payable, and travel systems … and who can create great content to explain these systems to faculty and staff.

The position consolidates responsibility for developing learning content on multiple systems – Concur, Marketplace, FIN 9.2, and Cognos m-Fin reports. The combined approach in training parallels the combined finance/procurement approach of our FinPro Help Desk … which in turn serves the combined roles of so many campus employees who are responsible for working in all systems.

We look forward to this new consolidated direction in finance and procurement training. And we encourage you to review the position description and share it with individuals who might be a good fit.
