Official Prize Rules

Promotional Period: 12 p.m. MT on 10/7/2021– 11:59 p.m. on 10/28/2021

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE TO ENTER AND WIN ANY PRIZE.

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: From 12:00 p.m. Mountain Time (“MT”) on October 7, 2021 and continuing through 11:59 p.m. MT on October 28, 2021 (the “Game Period”), the University of Colorado, Office of Information Security,1800 Grant Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (“Sponsor”) will conduct a weekly Kahoot Game (the “Game”) in which the top three (3) scorers for each week will be awarded Amazon electronic gift cards (the “Prize") for First place ($100.00), Second place ($50), and Third place ($25).Each winner must provide a name and valid University of Colorado email address in which to receive the Prize.

The Game will be conducted each Thursday in October 2021 at 12 noon. (October 7, 14, 21, and 28)

2. HOW TO ENTER: A Zoom link to each Game will be published on the OIS website at cu.edu/security prior to the Game. Players must join the Zoom event through a valid University of Colorado email address. To enroll in the game, Players must also provide a valid University of Colorado email address. Players are limited to one (1) Prize for all Games conducted in October 2021.  

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entries that are not submitted in accordance with or that do not otherwise comply with these Official Rules. All entries become the property of Sponsor.

3. ELIGIBILITY: The Game and Prizes are open to all University of Colorado regular full time and part time employees and students as of 10/7/2021. Employees of the CU Office of Information Security (Sponsor) and University Officers may participate in the Games, though are ineligible to win Prizes. Winners must provide a valid University of Colorado email to the CU Office of Information Security to receive the Prizes.

By participating in the Game or accepting any Prize, each entrant unconditionally agrees to be bound by and accept these Official Rules. The Game and Prizes are subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

4. SELECTION PROCESS: Three winners will be determined and Prizes awarded after each of the four scheduled Games. The three (3) winners will be selected based the top three (3) scorers. Scores are based on the number of correct answers and the speed in which the correct answers are selected. 

5. PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE: The CU Office of Information Security will conduct a weekly Game in which the top three (3) scorers for each week will be awarded Amazon electronic gift cards (the “Prize") for First place ($100.00), Second place ($50), and Third place ($25).

6. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: The prize is non-transferable, and must be accepted as awarded, with no substitutions of any kind, whether in cash or otherwise, except at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. The value of the Prize is considered taxable income by the IRS. The dollar amount of the Prize will be added to any winner’s gross income and reflected on their year-end W-2.

8. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Quiz and Prizes or any part of it if any fraud, technical failures, human error or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Game, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for the prize. Sponsors reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Game or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules of this or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

9. ODDS OF WINNING: Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible players, the number of correct answers, and the speed in which the correct answers are selected.
