As a state institution of higher education, the University of Colorado is subject to the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), a state law that promotes government transparency by providing access to records that document the exercise of functions required to conduct public business.  C.R.S. § 24-72-201, et seq.

The University’s Administrative Policy Statement regarding public records requests can be found here: https://www.cu.edu/ope/aps/2022.  This policy applies to all requests submitted pursuant to CORA to inspect public records in the custody or control of the University of Colorado.
