In June, The Arc of Mississippi and Project START co-sponsored the Assistive Technology for Everyone 2023 conference to showcase Mississippi's latest assistive technology. They hosted national speakers to discuss today’s technology tools that assist individuals with disabilities to live independently.

Dr. Bodine was asked to lead a planary session, titled “Creating Technology that Works for Everyone,” on the second day of the conference. She discussed why technology innovations matter, especially for persons living with cognitive impairment, and how well-designed assistive technology can be developed. As examples, Dr. Bodine highlighted work from the Coleman Institute and the Center for Inclusive Design and Engineering. Both of these University of Colorado institutions are contributing the goal of Mississippi’s Assistive Technology for Everyone 2023 conference – creating technology for people living with disabilities.
