Policy changes to tuition assistance benefits approved

New provisions will go into effect for the 2021-22 academic year.

The Office of Policy and Efficiency (OPE) announces changes to APS 5024-Tuition Assistance Benefit.  The new provisions would allow:

  • Eligible employees to register seven (7) calendar days prior to the first day of the semester or the first day of class, whichever is earlier, as follows:
    • CU Anschutz, CU Boulder and CU Colorado Springs – undergraduate and graduate course registration.
    • CU Denver – graduate course registration only.
  • Employees to wait-list classes.
    • All campuses.

These changes were reviewed by the campus chancellors and approved by President Mark Kennedy on June 17, 2021.  While the policy revisions will become effective on July 1, 2021, the new provisions will not be effective until the 2021-22 academic year.   In addition, some new provisions are on a pilot program basis and may be reassessed in 2022.
