What I do
I’m responsible for developing user-friendly, context-rich, and engaging learning experiences for employees using the PeopleSoft Finance and CU-Data systems and related policies, forms, and procedures. I combine my passion for accounting and teaching to explain policies and procedures so that accountants and non-accountants can successfully perform their accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.
I’m happy to answer your questions on:
- Fund accounting and the University’s Finance System structure (ChartFields)
- Best practices for processing journal entries, including spreadsheet JEs, to book transactions and make corrections
- Running and reading m-Fin reports in CU-Data, and selecting the best m-Fin reports for your needs
About me
- B.S.B.A. with double majors in accounting and finance from the University of Arizona; Master of Accountancy from New Mexico State University; licensed C.P.A. (inactive status) in the state of Colorado.
- I have over 11 years of experience working in professional accounting support roles in higher education and county government and over 13 years of experience teaching accounting at various colleges and universities.
- I am originally from northern New Jersey but have lived mainly in the southwest all my adult life and now call Colorado “home.”
- Fun fact: My position at the CU Systems Office is my fourth time hired by CU! To date, I have worked at CU-Denver as a faculty member - accounting instructor, CU-Boulder as a classified staff member as the accounting/budgeting support manager for Facilities Operations, CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business as a faculty member - accounting instructor, and now at CU Systems as a member of the university staff - learning support specialist.
