CU's Medicare enrollment runs Oct. 15-29

Medicare-eligible retirees and surviving spouses can make changes to their CU-administered health plans in October to align with national Medicare Open Enrollment.

A few quick things to know:

  • No changes to plans: All plans (CU Health Plan – Medicare, Alternate Medicare Payment, CU Health Plan – Medicare/High Deductible, CU Health Plan – Premier) will remain the same for the 2026 plan year.
  • Passive enrollment: If you would like to keep the same benefit choices, no action is required. You will be automatically re-enrolled. If you want to make a change, we'll provide ways to learn about and compare plans.
  • How to enroll: You will make your benefits changes in the portal using the benefits enrollment tool. If you need a login or have access issues, visit our enrollment tool access page. You may also use paper forms to submit any changes.
  • Eligibility requirements: Enrollment into the Medicare Plan requires you to be enrolled in Medicare A & B prior to the benefit effective date. Enrollment in any other Medicare Plans will prevent a successful enrollment into the CU Medicare Plan.

Before enrollment begins, complete two quick tasks to prepare:

#1: Make sure your contact information is up to date

We’ll send Medicare-eligible retirees and surviving spouses postcards, letters and important disclosures via mail and email, so this is a good time to confirm your contact information is correct in the employee portal. You’ll also want to confirm your phone number is correct — the enrollment tool requires dual factor authentication, and having a current phone number on file will help ensure that you’re able to verify your access quickly and efficiently.

Check your contact information through the employee portal.

  1. Log in to the employee portal.
  2. Click the CU Resources tab.
  3. Open the CU Resources Home dropdown menu and select My Info and Pay.
  4. Select Contact Details to view your contact details and make any needed changes.

If you do not have access to the employee portal, you can update your contact information by submitting the Address, Phone Number and Email Change form or request portal access using instructions on the Enrollment Tool Access page.

#2: Sign up for Open Enrollment text reminders

Don’t miss your window to enroll in, update or change your health coverage. Sign up to receive enrollment text reminders via RAVE Alerts.

Once you enroll in these optional reminders, you’ll get three brief text messages each year during Medicare Fall Enrollment reminding you to act.
