The New Year is almost here. We’ve compiled a quick list to help you prepare for tax season as well as saving for retirement and healthcare, so you’re prepared for whatever 2018 may bring.

Click on each of the tabs below to stay in the know:

The most important thing to do is to visit the employee portal to ensure your address and personal information are correct by Jan. 5. This will ensure you get your W-2 in a timely manner.

Update your address

  1. Visit the employee portal and select your campus to log in.
  2. Go to the CU Resources tab. (If you don’t have any tabs in your portal, the CU Resources area is your homepage.)
  3. You may see an alert showing your address and giving you a button to update it, if needed. If you don’t see the alert, you can update it by selecting My Info and Pay, then clicking Employee Profile.
  4. That’s it. We’ll mail W-2s by Jan. 31 and make them available in the employee portal shortly afterward.

Check your Social Security number

  4. Select Additional Information from the left-side tabs.
  5. You'll be asked to authenticate your identity.
  6. You'll see your Social Security number on the fifth line of this page.
  7. If it is incorrect, please alert your department's payroll liaison that it needs to be updated.

Check your name

If you legally changed your name this year, log in to the portal to verify that the name on your digital pay stub matches the one on your Social Security card.

  1. Visit the employee portal and select your campus to log in.
  2. Go to the CU Resources tab. (If you don’t have any tabs in your portal, the CU Resources area is your homepage.)
  3. Click on the My Compensation tile and select Pay Advice from the menu.
  4. Verify your name is correct. If it’s not, contact your department’s HCM User or payroll liaison to update it.
