Medical Plans

The University of Colorado offers its employees five health care plans from which to choose. Depending on which plan you pick—and are eligible to select—you will receive medical care from providers through Kaiser Permanente or Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

University of Colorado Health and Welfare Trust

In 2010, the University of Colorado, University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), University of Colorado Hospital Authority and University Physicians, Inc. (UPI) came together and formed the University of Colorado Health and Welfare Trust.

The Trust and the health and welfare benefits plans were created to help mitigate the rising costs of health care, tailor health plans to specific needs of our employees and their dependents based on data and evidence-based approaches to health care, and emphasize a commitment to wellness.

CU, UCH and UPI encourage CU Health Plan members to better understand their medical benefits, access the preventive care features of the plans and engage in opportunities for wellness.
