In August, the HCM system updated to take into account PERA employees’ retirement contributions.

Two updates were applied to encumbrance processes:

1. The encumbrance job no longer assesses Social Security for employees enrolled in PERA, as they do not contribute to Social Security.
2. If there is additional pay, the system will alter the retirement encumbrance for PERA employees.

This update will not alter pay processing. Expect minimal changes in encumbrance reports.
