CU Medicare Open Enrollment [1]
Medicare-eligible retirees and surviving spouses can make changes to their CU-administered health plans Oct. 12–23, in alignment with the national Medicare Open Enrollment period.
Happy with your plans? No action is needed.
- If you’re happy with your current plans, you do not need to take any action.
- You will be automatically re-enrolled in your current plans when the new plan year begins Jan. 1, 2027.
- The annual deductible and out-of-pocket maximums will reset for the Medicare and Premier Dental plan on Jan. 1, 2027.
- Members enrolled in the High Deductible plan will continue on a July–June plan year. Their deductible and out-of-pocket maximums reset on July 1 each year.
What's on the menu for 2027?
- For the 2027 plan year, there are no benefit design changes to the CU Health Plan — Medicare [2], the Medicare plan portion of the Medicare/High-Deductible combination (over/under) plan or CU Health Plan – Premier Dental [3] plan.
- Alternate Medicare Payment (AMP) [4] amounts will not change.
- Rates [5] will not increase for CU Health Plan – Medicare.
- Rates [5] will increase between $3 and $8, depending on number of covered dependents, for CU Health Plan – Premier Dental.
Before enrollment begins, complete two quick tasks to prepare:
#1: Make sure your contact information is up to date
We send Medicare-eligible retirees and surviving spouses postcards, letters and important disclosures via mail and email. So this is a good time to confirm your contact information is correct in the employee portal. You’ll also want to confirm your phone number is correct — the enrollment tool requires multifactor authentication [6], and having a current phone number on file will help you verify your identity and access the tool.
Review or update your contact information through the employee portal.
- Log in to the employee portal [7].
- Click the CU Resources tab.
- Open the CU Resources Home dropdown menu and select My Info and Pay.
- Select Contact Details. From the left-side menu on this page, you can update your address, phone number and email.
If you do not have access to the employee portal, you can update your contact information by submitting the Address, Phone Number and Email Change form [8] or request portal access using instructions on the Enrollment Tool Access page [9].
